Basil and Nigel were our two English Budgies. They both terrorized the household and spoke Brooklyn Budgie English, and both tended to create their own vocabulary from fragments they learned. Basil invented the term "Sweetie Butthead", since his (human) Mom thought all birds should say "Sweetie" and later thought it would be very funny if he called me "Butthead". She never considered that he might put the two together. (I'm still called Sweetie Butthead in his honor.)
Basil also once offered J. R. a beer, which was impressive since J. R. was fourteen at the time. (I'm sorry we didn't get it on tape.) I guess a Budgie is never carded.
